U.S. Veteran Robert Duane Brunk, 68, died Friday May 31, 2013. He was born in Hutchinson, January 8, 1945, the son of Ivan E. and Evelyn Grace Ely Brunk.

He graduated from Inman High School in 1963, and then from Hutchinson Community College. He was an Army National Guard veteran. Robert's career was in trucking. He drove and worked for Friesen Truck Line, R.G. Jones, Jackson's Ice Cream, Brunk Truck Line, and Jantz Trucking.

On December 9, 1966, he married Nancy A. Buller in Inman. She survives. Other survivors include: their children and spouses, Duane and Michelle, David, Darin and Tove', Danell Brunk, all of Buhler; his mother, Mary Jane Brunk, South Hutchinson; two brothers, Larry and Dorothy Brunk, and Dennis and Joyce Smith, both of Inman; a sister, Peggy and Orvin Miller, Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren, Brayden, Brielyn and Bransten, Ashton and Eli, Malachi and Makenna.

He was preceded in death by his birth parents and a niece, Kelly Denise Miller.

A private family burial will take place Saturday morning in North Inman Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
