Schmitz, Stephen W. "Smitty" Aug. 17, 1951 - March 23, 2011 Father, Son, Brother, G-Paw, passed away after a heroic battle with cancer. His daughter and son-in-law were by his side Stephen graduated from Irving High School in 1970 and lived in Texas until 2004 when he moved to Phoenix Az to be near his daughters and grandchildren. He was a gentle soul. He was quick-witted, easy going, loyal and an avid fisherman. He would not hesitate to stop his truck grab his rod & reel and cast a line to catch that next big trophy bass when he saw a small lake or country stocked pond. He was a huge sports nut and a true Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved spending time with his family playing cards and sharing stories. His cool sense of humor always came with a gorgeous dimpled smile that would light up the room. We were very fortunate that he was able come home last month to attend his Mothers 80th birthday celebration and be reunited with us one last time. Preceded in Death by: Father Donald J.
