

GARY LEE WEGER, age 59, a lifetime resident of Irving, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at a Dallas hospital. Born March 20, 1952 in Dallas, the son of Roy Weger and Lila Jean Burrows Weger, he was a 1970 graduate of Irving High School and attended Brookhaven Community College. Gary was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. Survivors include his wife Deanne, they married in 1995; his sons, Gary Lee Weger, II of Princeton, Dana Scott Weger of Arlington, Sterling Gianni Cash of Garland, Blake Olen Cash and Trey A. Cash, both of Irving; grandchildren, Gary Lee Weger, III, Brittany Moriah Weger, Job Wright Weger and Zane Riley Weger; sister, Donna Ohweiler; brother, Michael Roy Weger; three nephews and one niece. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 25 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Jackson officiating.

I'm so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. One bright memory, though. When we were in grade school he invited me to a birthday party at his house. His parents had bought him a go-cart and he let me drive it...right into the bushes. No damage except to my little ego-I felt foolish and he was so understanding-telling me, "That's ok, Kathy, girls aren't supposed to be good at go- carts." Thanks, Gary, I appreciated that kind word.
