Anne was one of my best friends growing up. She was also my neighbor. Back in the old days, if you wanted to go to town, you would walk. On Saturdays, Anne and I would walk to the drugstore for a fountain coke and a candy bar. We would always spend that time talking about school, our hopes and dreams for the future, and sometimes even boys. I will always cherish our friendship.
Little did we know how quickly our lives would be changed in one fleeting moment. The innocence of my youth was taken from me that fateful afternoon. RIP, my dear friend.
