Ok, I hardly knew this guy but I know he committed suicide whilst we were in our Junior year. I really don't know many of the details surrounding his suicide, but I do know that he had two cousins (DeShannon and Barbara Jones) who attended CCHS with us. If I recall correctly, DeShannon was a '98 grad whilst Barbara was class of '00.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Shannon was killed in a car wreck. He was an absolutely precious person! He is missed by many. I would hate for anyone to think he took his own life. His mother, who has since gone to be with him, couldn't stand that.

Wow..............all these years I thought he committed suicide. Are you sure it was a car accident??
I hate hearing that his mother has passed on as well.

Yes it was a car accident. His cousin was in the car with him and had a very hard time after the accident. The road was wet, a truck came acound a curve, he missed the turn.

How could anyone ever think Shannon could commit suicide!! He was beyond amazing. He was one of the most wonderful people in the whole world. I am proud to say he was my friend.

I know for sure that Shannon was in a car wreck... He was my cousin through marriage and I remember family members talking about it...

December 3, 1997 is a day that will be fresh in my memory as long as I live. I lost my best friend. I remember Becky Ford was the one who called and told me about it and I think DeShannon had called her. At first I got really mad because I thought it was a horrid joke, but the poor girl, bless her heart, she was balling her eyes out on the phone and pleaded with me that it was the truth. My mom knew some of his family and had his aunt's phone number and called her. It was true. Having to go to school the next day just to order Senior supplies was hard without him there to joke and cut up with. He was always such a light-hearted person and was so much fun to be around. Almost like he didn't have a care in the world and that's the way I'll always remember him. I loved him to death, and still do, and I miss him so bad. I can't help but wonder what the world would be like if he were still in it. But God had other plans for Shannon and one day we'll all meet back up with him and all our other classmates that we have lost and the ones we will lose along the way when it's our turn to go.

I remember Shannon very well he was such a kind and tender hearted person! He blessed so many with his kind smile! I never had many conversations with with Shannon but he never had anything bad to say about anyone!

Shannon was my best friend in 5th grade. We did everything together that year, lol. Altho we lost touch as we grew older, he was definately a very good freind of mine. Wish I could talk to him one more time...I will always remember him.

I really hate to think that anyone thinks that he killed himself. After reading Hollys entry its like no time had passed. I remember calling her and telling her. It is proabley the hardest thing I have ever had to do. It was so hard to go on that year knowing that he was not with us. I had not seen his grave until the prom. I remember that it wasn't real until then...at least not for me. I miss Shannon terribly. But I think that God had a reason for taking him away. And we will find out that reason when our time comes.

Yeah. I haven't had a chance to visit this site in awhile and just got around to it today. Anyway, I'm sorry if I upset anyone. I was almost certain he killed
himself, though. But as I stated, I hardly knew the guy.

It sounds like I missed out on knowing a great person, however.
