The Palatka football game, senior year. Went with George Winter, driving in a torrential rain that continued until the crowd started the chant, "Parete stop the rain, Parete stop the rain" Coach Parete turned and bowed to the crowd.
I guess the entire senior year was a blast

I finished my B.A. in History from the University of South Carolina in 1974 and began teaching in in 1975 in Ridgeland SC, a town of 1,200. Met Sally there, married and started the family. Finished my Masters in Ed. Administration at the Citadel and stayed in Ridgeland until 1997. Moved to Charleston and eventually became principal in 2005 of James Island Charter High, 9-12, 1,400 students. Great school, great community. Check us out on Jamesislandcharterhs.org

I have finished my Ph.D. in Education Leadership - May 2012 - The University of South Carolina- of course! Loving every minute of it!

I retired on July 1, 2014, after more than 39 years in the education field. I am officially a consultant and am now serving as the Head of School for Bridges Preparatory Charter school in Beaufort, SC. Living the dream! The best coincidence of all time - The reading specialist at Bridges Prep is Amanda Sanders - a Graduate of Bishop Kenny, class of 2000. We can't stop comparing notes and experiences of our H.S alma mater !!

The photo was taken at the 30th reunion - me and Aimee. I guess I'm posting it way late, like my assignments for Sr. Vincent -"Come up here you Gomm, you get the stick!" Does anyone, to this day, know the definition of a "Gomm"?

Sept.17, 2018-Still retired/consulting. Did a long-term consulting gig March-May, for UME Prep, a charter school in Dallas.

August, 2019 - I am back in the classroom Teaching again! This time, I'm a College Professor. I'm teaching two sections of Foundations of Education at The College of Charleston. Lots of Fun!

March, 2021 - Surviving the pandemic, as well as anyone else, I guess. Was serving as the interim Principal at Charleston Acceleration Academy until August, 2020. Figured it was time to retire- FULLY! Back to fishing, hunting, and enjoying the Five grandchildren and life in the Holy City - Charleston, SC!

March, 2023 - Back at Charleston Advancement Academy, serving as interim administrator. I guess I'm addicted to being around high school.
