Our dear classmate, Cassie O'Donnell Edwards, lost her battle with cancer. She was with her son and his family in California when she passed away.

Catherine Ann O'Donnell Edwards (Cassie) passed away on September 12, 2018 in Mill Valley, California. Cassie was born in Jacksonville, Florida to John Powers and Catherine Amelia Burke O'Donnell. She was a graduate of Assumption Catholic School and Bishop Kenny High School. She continued her education at Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Following FSU, Cassie utilized her skills and knowledge to build a distinguished career in the healthcare field, including positions at several top hospitals in both Jacksonville and Atlanta, as well as the Center for Disease Control. Later in her career, Cassie channeled her knowledge of nursing and the medical field to support hospitals in their mission to drive automation, specifically focused on medical record documentation.
Cassie's life extended well beyond her professional career. She had a passion for people, family, and helping others. She always placed family above all else. Cassie was a passionate sister to her siblings, a caring wife to her husband Frederick K. Edwards (deceased), and a loving mother to their son Jeff and his wife Megan. She extended this love and dedication to the newest Edwards family members, her granddaughters, Charlotte Adelaide and Caroline Elizabeth Edwards. Cassie made an indelible impression on many lives through the deep friendships she cultivated over her years in Jacksonville, Atlanta, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Whether it was through Kappa Alpha Theta, Junior League, Marist and Stanford football games or church events, Cassie thrived on being involved and helping bring people together. It is this selfless passion that helped her leave such a lasting impact on all that knew her.
Cassie is survived by William J. Edwards (son) and Megan R. Edwards, and their two daughters Charlotte and Caroline Edwards of Mill Valley, CA. She is also survived by her siblings, John Michael O'Donnell (Cynthia), Theresa O'Donnell Price, and Kevin Powers O'Donnell (Renee) as well as a number of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
