Anita Olivia [Nita] Barnett (Campbell)

I know a lot of folks may want to use this site for social networking, but there are some of us that are on Facebook too. I am. If you want to "find" me and other Wolfson grads, simply search on my name.

Again, it was great seeing everyone at the reunion. Don't forget, Barnett Jewelers is The FUN Gold Party Specialists in Jax! Call my "Brother Bill" or "Sistuh Susan" at 354-0332 to schedule your party - today!

Love to all and stay in touch!

Dear Friends,

As you know, our dear Sue Chang lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer Sunday evening. Her memorial service is being planned for this Saturday, Time and place is TBD and I will let you know the details as soon as they are confirmed.

Her children are faced with the loss of their mother and many monetary challenges as well. We are planning to collect any donations and cards of sympathy for the children or food for the reception after the memorial service. Please send your special memento, card or donation to me by Thursday so I can prepare a nice basket from our Mandarin Family to the Chang Family. There will be a green bin on my desk for you to drop off your contributions.

Also, if you would like to contribute food for the reception, you can send me an email so we can plan a beautiful tribute to Sue Chang who hosted so many receptions for all of us. I really appreciate any efforts you can make as I know how our Mustang Family always pulls together in times of need.

Any teachers who may have taught the Chang Children may want to write them an individual note as well. Their hearts are broken and I am certain this will help. Bless you all!

PS – Please forward this to any friends that you know may be interested in helping.

Susan Lynn [Susie] Shurtleff (Reagan)

So sorry to hear about Sue. She was such a beautiful person. A fellow teacher at Beauclerc taught her daughter in Kindergarten. Mitzie told me of all the things Sue made for her while Jenny was in her class. She said she still has the heart stamp Sue gave her. She will surely be missed. We all loved her smile and gentle ways. Forever in our hearts.

I can not think of a more pleasant person with a nicer and warmer smile.  I know she will be missed.  I am glad she was at the reunion, it was very good to see her.

Our dear teacher, mentor and friend Frances Brewster passed away Thursday, April 22nd at the age of 80.  I'm sure that for many of you, as is the case for me, Mrs. Brewster had a cherished positive effect on my life.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., followed by a reception.

Here's a link to an article about her in today's Florida Times Union:

Ed, that is sad news.  Mrs. Brewster was our neighbor on Vassar Road.  I remember her well.

I have known Patty Black since we were 10 years old.  We went to Catholic school together, high school and have spent all these years (almost 50) as dear friends.  Always loyal, always there and always willing to give of herself to help others, Patty was a true friend.

Patty was married for 36 years to her college love...Steve Keitzer.  Together they raised four great children.  She worked tirelessly for the Girl Scouts for 22 years heading up Product Sales.  She was good at what she did and was effective, influential and loved by many.

I, for one, will miss her terribly!!!

p.s.  She never got in trouble with Ms. Wilson!  Instead, Patty was chosen our senior year as one who gave the "Most Service" to the school.

Patricia Ann [Pati] Swymer (Wilburn)

Hello everyone, I just filled out the survey regarding a possible class reunion in 2011. If it happens it'll be my first. I'm hoping we can get it together. This summer I had a too brief visit with Susy (Scoates) and John Summers in Mandarin. I can't wait to see them again, and my sister still lives outside Orlando, so I have lots of reasons to visit Florida. Thank you for maintaining our class site and for all your hard work in the past putting together reunions for one of the most creative classes in the history of SWW. Take care and be good to each other. Pati

Well, I am now officially 60. Yikes! How did that happen?  While it certainly beats the alternative it has made me pause and think about what lies ahead. The certain reality is that whatever is left for me on this earth is much shorter than what has been.  That acknowledgement reinforces my desire to spend my time wisely and to spend it with people that I truly want to see. I have heard from quite a few old friends over the past few days and it has been great.  I love hearing from them all and look forward to seeing everyone again soon. Lets all make our 60th year the best yet.

Happy B-day Chris.  60 will happen to most of us this year,  I hear the Seniors menu at most places is pretty good!

Kristin Still (Hunt)

My name is Kristin Hunt. I am the only daughter of Patricia Still. Thank you Margaret for welcoming me as a guest on your site. I have posted some pictures of my mom on her In Memory page. My mom passed in 1981 I was only a year old. All of her family had also passed by the time I was old enough to take an interest in the woman that created me. I dont have too much to go on because of that though my dad does his best to carry her memories. I have come here for your help. If anyone here was close to my mom and has a memory a funny story...anything that will give me a glimpse into who she was please feel free to share them with me. I opened a facebook page in her memory it's under Stillpat51@yahoo.com . Thank you to everyone who graced her beautiful life.

Kristin

Christy Chandler (Garces)

Happy 60th Chris and everyone else.  Just did it myself on March 10th.  My third grandchild was born on the 11th.  What a great birthday present!!  I can still sing and play the guitar (when I am in practice) but wish I could still surf.  I'll have to watch the rest of you guys and just be glad I am still in relatively good health.  Let's all work on our "bucket lists"!!  Christy Chandler

PS  I mourn the passing of Pete Breslin.  What a great guy.  Really enjoyed his company in HS.  Always had something funny to say that would make me laugh and help me not take myself to seriously.  He was good at that.  I will miss him and treasure memories of him.  Christy

I agree with Joseph!  It takes so much work to put these kinds of events together. I was unable to make it to Jax, but I enjoyed watching it!

Thanks for all you do!

Margaret-This might be the secord or even third congratulations from me you have received today for the wonderful time I had at the reunion Saturday night. I just couldn't figure out if my previous congratulations got  through. I just read Larry's response and I thought if Newkirk can figure it out I surely should be able to.All the comments I heard from the attendees were the same as mine: great time, good food, nice venue and kudos and many thanks to you and your hard working committee. Looking forward to the 50th in five years.
