Michael Stephen "Mike" Mason, 69, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on July 4, 2020. Mike was a native Floridian and was born May 6, 1951 to Wilbur and Margaret Mason. Mike attended Wolfson High School and went on to specialize in small engine repair. After gaining years of experience from Carroll Saw Company and Homelite, he later opened up his own shop, Mike's Small Engine Repair in the Englewood area. Mike would later start a new business in 2004, 1-Stop Hauling & Tree Inc. which he recently retired from in March of this year. Mike was a generous man and always tried to lend a helping hand. He was known to have a soft spot for other small business owners and would try to help them any way he could. Mike enjoyed playing golf, it was something he shared in common with his parents. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, shrimping, and fishing. Mike loved his grandkids and you could spot him at most of their ball games, events, and recitals etc. Although he wasn't a very religious person, he did know his need for a relationship with Jesus and expressed this relationship to his son on multiple occasions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Margaret Mason. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Mason; his children, Stacy Michele Mason, Misty Mason-Pennington, and Michael Stephen Mason II; his grandchildren, Jarred Bryce Mason, Justus Romel Pennington, Chris Legend Mason, Micah Seth Mason, Merci Leah Mason, Skye Mackenzie Mason-Raper, and Jasmine Corvette Sison; his sister, Diane Carol Baggett; his brothers, Ron Clifford Mason and Mark Alan Mason (Phyllis); and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Services will be postponed until a later date due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
