Mark Lee Barbour

Mark Dee Barbour peacefully passed away on February 6, 2022 at age 70 in Tampa, Florida. He was born on July 6, 1951 in Raleigh, NC, living there for several years before moving to Jacksonville, FL, attending Wolfson High School before returning to Raleigh to graduate from Millbrook High School. He then married and relocated to Jacksonville, FL, where he raised his family and worked in successful businesses, Allen's Tire & Automotive and Mark Barbour's Consolidated Auto Parts. He was involved and held office in the Salvage Yard Association, FADRA and was President of the Southside Saddle Club for a number of years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and horseback riding with his family and cooking fantastic meals outdoors for his friends and family. He was involved in his children's activities, the Dad's Club at Julington Creek Elementary School, dirt track racing, mudbogging, go cart racing and horse riding competitions. He was a proud "Papa" and loved his grandchildren. He spent many hours volunteering for the Florida Sheriff's Boys Ranch, Rodeheaver Ranch, and the Cattleman's Association. He had the gift of gab and loved spending time with people. He enjoyed traveling to experience the beauty of this wonderful country, from the mountains of Wyoming to the Keys where he camped overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. After retiring he moved from Macclenny, FL to Salt Springs, FL where he enjoyed life on the water before moving to Tampa, FL. He loved his family, friends and country and lived a full life in his 70 years. He is survived by his children, Bridget Barbour (Dennis), Chad Barbour and Sunny Barbour Brown (Mike), His brothers, Jerry Barbour (Louise), Dennis Barbour (Debbie) and sister, Cathy Barbour Rozier (Ken), His grandchildren Brack Bishop, Carson Bishop, Laney Brown and Alina Barbour, His stepfather, Allen Johnson, several nieces and nephews and longtime best friend, Richard Schuster. He was preceded in death by his Father, Milton Braxton Barbour and his Mother, Etta M. Johnson. Contributions can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. No services have been planned at this time
