Patricia Ann [Patty] Black (Keitzer)

Patricia Ann (Black) Keitzer, 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 24, 2010. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey, September 24 1951, daughter of the late James F. Black and Helen (Grimes) Black who survives. Patty attended Florida State University where she received a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She retired from the Girl Scouts of America as the Product Sales Manager after 22 years of service. Through her passion and creativity, she educated and inspired thousands of young girls. Patty took pride in ensuring the Girl Scout cookie sales were successful. She loved being a part of the Girl Scout organization along with the wonderful friends that enriched her life and gave her support. Surviving are her loving husband, John Steven Keitzer, four children, Kristin Lauren Sommers (James), Steven Conor Keitzer, John James Keitzer (Kelly), Kevin Arthur Keitzer, 2 grandchildren, Adam Sommers and Mary Sommers, a brother, Jim Black and many dear friends and family. Patty loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family and friends who will miss her beyond description. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL . Memorials in her name may be directed to the Girl Scouts Gateway Council.

 

Patty lost her battle with lung cancer on September 24, 2010, her 59th birthday.  She lived a life of love and service to all who knew her. Patty leaves behind her husband of 36 years, Steve, and their four children, Kristen, Conner, JJ and Kevin; as well as her Mom and brother, Jimmy.

As her friend for 50 years, I will miss her deeply.
