William “Bill” Lawson Pope, Jr., 54, son of Bernice Pope, Charlotte, NC and the late Bill Pope of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was a Master Electrician and was employed as a Nuclear Technical Specialist at Dominion VA Power Nuclear Plant in Surry, VA. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Pope; three sons and three grandchildren. A memorial celebration of Bill's life will be held at the Sugar Hill Baptist Church, 657 Mudcutt Road, Marion, N.C. at 11 a.m Saturday, February 18, 2006. In lie of flowers, the family has given request memorials be given in Bill's name to American Cancer Society of the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
