Marie Reynolds Wood, 51, died suddenly Friday February 28, 2003. She was born in St. Augustine, daughter of the late Marie and Robert L. Reynolds, and had lived in Jacksonville since her childhood. She was a parking attendant for the City of Jacksonville until she retired and later worked as a security guard. Marie was a member of First Baptist Church, loved writing poetry, and did volunteer work for HabiJax and the Food Bank. She is predeceased by her brother, Robert L. Reynolds, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Jeffrey Lee Wood, two uncles, V.T. Reynolds (Joan) and John Reynolds (Helen), a niece and several cousins. The Reverend Paul E. Murphy, Jr. will conduct Cryptside services at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 5th at the Mausoleum in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 4115 Hendricks Ave.

Marie and her brother Bobby were adopted children of Lavern Reynolds and lived on San Jose, the cut off part behind Hendricks Avenue Elementery. Lavern was well liked and was a local public figure. Their adopted mother was much older than Lavern and therefore died when Marie and Bobby were very young. Sadly, I think Marie lived a troubled life as an adult. I saw in the 1990's working as a parking attendant in the city lot behind the courthouse and she seemed so beaten down by life. She was always so happy and friendly when we were young. Take care Marie. I'm sure you are in a happier place.

Marie Reynolds died March 5, 2003. Two months after her father (1-2-03 ).
Her mother died 4/23/82, when she was 22 years old. And her brother Bobby
died in Phenix, AZ 10/24/94. He was 43. Marie took a job with the city only
to get a good retirement pension. I believe she died of loneliness. Missing her family.
Bobby and Marie were very close to me. They lived at 3720 San Jose Blvd.
I lived at 3900 San Jose Blvd. Bobby had a heart attack, at home.

My brothers Joe and Johnny and I, and my parents knew the Reynolds family from swim meets years ago. So shocked to hear about Bobby and Marie's deaths. They were all wonderful people! May all of them rest in peace.
