POWELL Danny Ray Powell, 46, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Danny was born in Ft. Campbell, KY to Robert and Sandra Powell. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and an avid Gator fan. He was also a member of the V.F.W. where memorial services will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5th from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 940 Cesery Blvd. He is survived by his wife, Ana Powell; mother, Sandra Crumble (Cochise); daughter, Angela Vinocur; sons, Daniel Jasin Powell (Jennifer), Derrick Randall Powell, Travis Davis and Joseph Michael Davis (Mary); brothers, Derrick Powell, Deryle Powell (Betty), David Powell (Isabelle) and Matthew Brian Powell; grandchildren, Katelyn Vinocur, Ruben Patrick Vinocur, Savana Rose Vinocur and Joseph Michael Davis, III; a host of nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. Raechelle Busch (Chancey)
Danny went into the Army after school completed 8 years of service. He was medically discharged in 1989. Married to Patricia Powell from Zephyrhills Fla and they had two children Daniel Jasin and Derrick Randall. In 2000 Danny and I reunited after each going thru divorce and many changes in life. I am Ana Townsend (TP79.) We were married in 2004 February 23rd. We lived briefly in Oklahoma to be closer to the kids his and mine. We have 4 grandchildren Katelyn (9) Ruben(7) JoJo(6) and Savana(1). We have had a full life.
Danny was diagnosed in 2005 with liver disease and became disabled 100% thru the VA. We had been awaiting a transplant, until he was diagnosed in June of 2009 with Laryngeal Cancer. He passed peacefully on June 30th. Please continue to remember him as he has remembered fondly his days from Terry Parker.

Thanks to Danny for serving our great country. I enjoyed knowing him in high school. He had that twinkle in the eye kind of personality. He was someone you could always count on. So sorry for the loss of a great guy.
