Tompkins : Chris Thomkins, 56, formerly of Jacksonville Passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001.  A loving husband and father, devoted son and son-in-law cherished uncle and friend, he is survived by his wife Betty Jo Tompkins and Son Christopher of Brandon; and mother Edna Tompkins, of Jacksonville.  Mr. Tompkins is a Terry Parker High School Graduate, who attended the University of Miami and continued graduate studies at the University of Florida.  He was an alumnus board member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and an active Gator Booster.  He was President of Tompkins & Associates, a marketing, public relations and real estate firm, As a civic and political activist, he served in Numerous Republican leadership positions, including eight years as Vice-Chairman and decade-long member of the Hillsborough County Soil and Water Conservation District; member of Brandon Masonic Lodge No. 114 F&AM Scottish Rite Temple and Shrine and Rotarian, Other positions include work as staff member for Congressman Michael Billrakis, and service on former President Bush’s Advance Team.  The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m.Wednesday, June 27th, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview, Fla 33569 Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Brandon, 402 E. Lumsden with Rev. William C Wynn officiating, Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Brandon Masonic Lodge #114, F&AM Donations may be made in his memory to Rotary's Camp Florida, 1915 Camp Florida, Rd., Brandon, Fla 33501.  Following the funeral, friends are welcome to visit with the family at 1706 south Kings Avenue in Brandon, SERENITY MEADOWS MEMORIAL PARK & FUNERAL HOME.
