Scott and I saw each other last in October of 2006. He came to Nashville as a guest of soul music legend Solomon Burke, for the taping of Solomon's "Nashville" concert video. Our last e-mail exchanges were the week before Scott passed away, concerning the vintage guitar David Huff was giving him for Christmas. That guitar was on a stand next to Scott's coffin at his funeral. Not a week goes by without Scott passing through my mind in some way.

Scott was one of the few in our class who accepted my fondness for the group KISS. I think he was a genuinely nice guy who took a lot of flack sometimes for being an individual. Thanks Scott.

Scott and I were friends before I entered JP in 11th grade. He is one of the reasons that I made the change from Wingfield HS in south Jackson. We sang together from around age 14 in lots of places (even church) and acted silly and stupid pretty much everywhere. Scott brought me to Prep as a "visitor" the first day of 11th grade. I had recently taken the entrance exam and hadn't even been admitted. Mr. Howell could tell I was serious about coming to Prep... and he didn't hold it against me that I was Scott's friend. LOL So, I became a member of the Class of '78.

We missed him our senior year when he went to Woodland Hills, but we will always miss his voice, his goofiness, his talents! There were so many wonderful accomplishments that he would have made. Only a few of us may know his widow, Shari (Schneider). Coincidentally, she and I knew each other from junior high before she and Scott ever met. They were a great couple complementing each others talents and my heart goes out to her even now.

Scott was so imaginative and funny. He was a hoot to play drums with. He was a talented musician and I remember his radio show in Jackson. Poor Dana Skelton the Band Director never could handle Scott. Digby and Reginald mourn his passing.
