Ellen wanted me to send this photo.  She as a Friar was at the Friar's Club event on Monday May 17th honoring her good friend Mayor Dinkins who she knows well as he was a frequent patron at Ellen's Cafe when it was down on Chambers Street. Scott Barbarino

Yet another very mini-reunion of the Class of '59 in Paris (Whatever
happened to an actual fifty-year reunion, anyway?). Linda Kaye-Moses
(aka Linda Joseph) and her husband, Evan Soldinger, vacationed in
France recently and got together for a cafe au lait with, who else,
Bernard Edinger. Bernard, who had just returned from interviewing
General Petraeus in the States, was, in spite of jet lag, ready to
talk politics (this has not changed, and that's a good thing).  It
was a brief, but enriching moment, filled with gentle reminiscing
and, of course, catching up on the events of the past fifty years.
Bernard helped us navigate the language barrier at our car rental
agency and then it was au revoir Paris and bonjour Giverny.

From Bernard Edinger in Paris

"Yet ANOTHER mini-reunion in Europe, this time in Paris.

"Attending were (on the right of the photo) Marion Dikman (Henken) and Penni Silver (Zola) who arrived from New York for a few days in mid-May and reunited with Bernard Edinger, now a resident of the French capital. All are members of the class of 1959.

"Bernard says: "We first went with my wife Suzanne to the Chateau de Chantilly north of Paris and then met again on a separate day for a tour of the Marais, Paris' old Jewish district. This photo was taken in the Rue des Rosiers heart of the area. We had a great time and I found that Marion and Penni were like two energetic and fun-loving teenagers who had lost none of their spark and energy. What's 50 years between friends ?"

Here's another one from Bernard.. Same trio, photo taken inside the Chateau de Chantilly near Paris.
