In Memory

Todd Jaycox

I'm sorry to inform you of the passing of Todd Jaycox....

The following is a letter written by Todd's wife...

Tuesday, January 15th, 2019

It is with great sadness I write this to inform all that Todd Ryan Jaycox died Wednesday, January 9th in our home, peacefully holding my hand, after a long battle with cancer. He was diagnosed October 6th, 2015, and from that day forward fought for EVERY minute he could to spend time with those he loved. He did this while still working full-time for himself, pursuing his real estate passion, building his successful company, Skyline Real Estate.

At times, fighting cancer was a full-time job, but Todd never let his illness stop him from making the most of the time he had. I will always be in awe of Todd’s ability to balance it all and NEVER waste a moment of the time he was given feeling sorry for himself. We are grateful for his care at University of Colorado Hospital-his oncology team followed Todd’s lead and fought just as hard alongside him, giving our family more time with Todd to do what we loved, spending time together…parasailing in Mexico, RVing to Moab, attending his daughter’s tennis tournament, or just playing a board game.

Todd defined optimism; he never gave up hope, and felt that life, no matter how compromised it was at times, was always worth living. Todd’s wish was to have an intimate CELEBRATION of Life a few months after his death. This will likely take place in April. A larger, more open event for those wanting to celebrate Todd will likely take place in a park or similar location later spring/earlier summer. Details TBD on both events with more info soon.

In the meantime, if you wish to make a donation in memory of Todd, there are two options:

1.) BfitBwell Todd enjoyed being part of this program that helps those with a cancer diagnosis get stronger and continue to be active despite their diagnosis. After only two months, post two surgeries, these individualized personal training sessions, delivered by cancer exercise specialists, allowed Todd to ski with his family. Todd’s oncologist actually created this program!
Click on the link below, and then click on the “Make a Gift” tab on the left hand side of the page. This will take you to the donation page where you can also specify that the gift is in memory of Todd...  BfitBwell

2.) National Park Foundation Todd and I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and were married in Grand Teton National Park. He wanted our children to see as many parks as they could, traveling back to Grand Teton with them in addition to Yellowstone, Arches, and Moab.

Click on the link, and then move your mouse over “Donate to the Parks” on the right hand side, and choose “Tribute Gifts”. You will have an opportunity to put Todd’s name in; the website even gives you the option of sending me an email, letting me know if you’d like: amjaycox@comcast.net      National Parks Donation

Thank you all for your love, care, and concern. Todd helped us build a strong foundation, and our family will continue to create memories , all the while remembering him.
