Darlene Brown Coker, born August 4, 1945, passed on to a better place after a 12 year battle with cancer, last Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Darlene lived a full life of love and joy with many close friends and family. She endured more than most of us ever could; fighting to see grandchildren and watch her girls enjoy their lives. She now celebrates a healthy new life with her Lord without pain or suffering.
A native of Jasper, Darlene was married to Roy for 46 years, residing in Lumberton, where she was active in the schools and community. A spit-fire of a woman, she will be greatly missed.
Darlene is survived by her husband Roy, daughter Crystal and husband Don Deckard, daughter Cady and husband Doug Evans, grandchildren Cooper and Addison Evans, her sister Melba Jean and husband Herbert Harlan Adams, brother Kenneth Raywood Brown and wife Susan, sister-in-law Ann Brown (widow of brother Roy Vernon Brown) and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorial services were held at First Baptist Church of Loeb on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.

We all miss you, Darlene. I was looking so forward to seeing you at this reunion, and I enjoyed connecting with you earlier this year. May you be gloriously happy with your Lord and Savior where there are no more tears, pain, or death. I will see you when God calls me home.Kay
