Ira Glenn RalphIra Glenn Ralph, 68 of the Sam Rayburn Community died at his home on Wednesday May 29, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Ira graduated from Jasper High School in 1963 and excelled as an all-star athlete. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends whether hosting a fish fry, bluffing at poker , fishing in Canada, or sitting on the deck at his lake home. Ira was known for his sense of humor, telling great stories and his "jokes", as well as never meeting a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him. Funeral services will be at Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, TX on June 2, 2012 at 2pm. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, June 1st from 5pm - 7pm at Forest Oaks. Condolences can be posted at www.forestoaksofjasper.com. Ira was born on December 12, 1944 in Jasper, Texas to Ira Dale and Gertrude Ralph. He is survived by his wife, Robbie Welch Ralph, his two daughters, Holly Schedler of Flower Mound, and Teri Ralph of Frisco, his son-in-law Kurt Schedler, and his three grandchildren, Lauren Schedler, Ryan Schedler, and Caden Kelly. He was also survived by his brother Robert Ralph of Indiana, sister-in-law Darlene Ralph of Indiana, mother-in-law Billie Welch of Jasper, sister-in-law Shirley and husband Ronnie Hidalgo of Hamshire-Fannett, sister-in-law Kay Welch of Oklahoma City, brother-in-law Billy Frank and wife Yolanda Welch of the Woodlands, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lakes Area Hospice, 215 Ethel Street, Jasper, Texas 75951.
