Mike was a member of the Greene County track team with me when we were in elementary/jr. high school. He was an amazing runner, even at such a young age. I remember how he would give his all for every race and collapse at the finish line because of the effort he put forth.Mike was also my biology partner the year he died. Our last day in class together, we cut each other's hair. He taped his bunch of hair to my tablet. In my mind's eye, I can still see it taped to that white tablet with the blue eagle on it.
There never was, nor will there ever be, anyone quite like Mike Wilson. It is hard to understand how some souls shine so brightly for such a brief time. After all these years, I still miss him and am saddened by his death.

Mark Pitcock (1988)
I saw him just hours before at the bank parking lot in Jefferson. He was greatly missed the rest of the senor year. He was one funny guy.Tonya Wilson (Wood) (1988)
When I worked at Davis's Market in Dry Tavern, Mike would come in sometimes when it was almost time for me to go home. He would always stay around to give me a ride even though it wasn't far and I usually walked. He even stopped if he would see me walking if he was driving by. Usually he would have his schnauzers with him.We would always joke about being "cousins". When he first moved here in I think 3rd grade, we "went together". I think I still have a little class ring he gave me that was out of the gum machine.
Mike was always happy and joking. There were not too many times when he didn't have a smile on his face. I still miss him and his goofy smile.
Timm Reeves (1987)
On the last night of Mike's life, I was walking out of Dairy Mart in Carmichaels and he was walking in at the same time. Goofing off, I put my hand on his cheek, and he put his hand on mine and I said "Mike" and he said "Timm". We had a short laugh after and I left. Just a few hours later, my Dad, who was working at the hospital at that time, called home and told us what happened. For the first time in my life, I was numb and speechless. The following Monday I walked into health class and saw that empty chair and the reality that Mike wasn't going to be back hit me. I loved him, and I miss him. I remember that moment at Dairy Mart like it was 5 minutes ago. What a smile!Candace DeFrank (Klimek) (1987)
Mike was my next door neighbor from 4th grade on and we pretty much grew up together. He was also best friends with my brother and they were ALWAYS together growing up. Losing him was like losing a brother and I think of him every time I am at my parent's house & see his parent's house and yard. Sooo many memories in such a short time. He is truly missed.....Jana Kelly (1989)
Mike was in my math class with Mr. Fowler. He was all ways goofing off and stuff and we could never get any thing done. We had a blast in that room almost everyday Mr. Fowler would yell at him to shut up and sit down. When he died that year the class was never the same it was boring.Brenna Barchiesi (Cipoletti) (1989)
I have so many memories of Mike (most of which are funny). When I think of him, I see his bright smile. Wasn't it contagious? And then I hear him yell, "Go bird legs!" (Once he found out my childhood nickname, he never let me forget it). He yelled this as loud as he could at every girls' basketball game he attended. Although embarrassing at the time, what I wouldn't give to hear it again.
