Kristi Michelle Meade (Williams) - Class Of 1985

Kristi Williams Obituary

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend Kristi Michelle (Meade) Williams of Dandridge, Tn. as she was received into her heavenly home with Jesus on Jan 28, 2025.

She was born in Whitesburg, KY, the day after Christmas, in 1967 to Marvin D. Meade and Oma (Johnson) Blue. She graduated from Jenkins High School, and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from Michigan State, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority Iota chapter, and then went on to earn her Masters Degree in Higher Education.

She is preceded in death by her twins whom she loved very much, Natalie and Matthew Buchannan, and by both her mother and father, and her step-father William “Bill” Blue. She is survived by her husband Rodney “Scott” Williams, and her children and their spouses Holly DeGrendel (Will), Hunter Lawson, Jackson “Oliver” Steele, Savannah Steele (Bryan Powers), and Chaely Woods (Aaron). As well as five grandchildren; Ryder Mease, Walker Steele, Bryson Powers, Lavynder Powers, and Rylyn Woods, and her younger siblings Doug Meade, Lori O Sturkie, Delana Meade, and Whitney Meade, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Kristi was an artist who could express herself in different mediums like painting, poetry, and music. Her creative hand and heart touched the lives of so many others in careers like education, where she taught elementary and secondary students English and fine arts in Michigan and Tennessee. In Detroit she explored her love for baking, whipping up sweet treats and smiles. And in her chair as a cosmetologist, she could transform the hair, makeup, and confidence of any client with her artful eye and playful banter. She was a beautiful singer, who shared her love of song with her children and in her community at karaoke. She enjoyed hiking and exploring the many parks and pathways of Southeast Tennessee, and loved going on motorcycle rides with her husband. She had an eye for all things beautiful, and had a special way of capturing and uplifting the beauty she saw every day.

Kristi celebrated a life full of love, laughter, and resilience. No formal funeral service is being planned, instead, we will commemorate her incredible journey and will celebrate the love she spread with an outdoor Celebration of Life service to be held in her honor at a later date.

Although Kristi is gone, she will live in our hearts forever, and all who knew her will remember her as a truly remarkable woman.

Kristi's obituary was submitted by her loving family.
