Our Beloved Friend

For and in loving memory of
Fleshia Ellen Jordan
Presented January 16, 2010, by the Wayne County High School Class of 1989

Your life was snuffed out too quickly
Brought to an abrupt and premature end
We’ll miss you our dear classmate
And our beloved friend

You possessed a strong sense of self
A loving and very brave heart
A fixed determination
To finish what you’d start

You weren’t afraid to follow your dreams
To blaze your own trail
To set your sites on something
And never be derailed

Your life was snuffed out too quickly
Brought to an abrupt and premature end
But I’m glad I had the privilege of knowing you
Of loving you and calling you my friend

Your mother was very proud of you
I’m certain your dad is too
I can’t imagine the pride they feel
To have had a child like you

You bred laughter in our spirits
Provided us with moments of joy and bliss
You put smiles upon our faces
And gave us loving memories to reminisce

There was genuineness in your being
There was compassion in your touch
There was openness in your heart
And you knew how to love so much

Your life was snuffed out too quickly
Brought to an abrupt and premature end
We’ll miss you our dear classmate
And our beloved friend
