Monica Lynn Fann passed away on March 31, 2018. She was born in Akron on July 22, 1959 to Leroy and Barbara Fann.
She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1977. She went on to attend Gerber Beauty School and upon completion began working at Artistic Hair Design and Hair Depot. She later put her passion for helping people through working for many years as care giver for Visiting Nurse Services and Circle of Life Incorporated.
She was a daughter of the Elks Pride of Rubber Town Lodge # 1594. Monica had a zest for life, people, and family. She touched the lives of everyone that she met. Monica's love was abundant. She was also a force that many new not to mess with. She lived life "In Living Color"!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Barbara E. (Mosley) Fann; grandparents, Osie L. Mosley, Blanche L. Cheney-Porter (Mosley), Johnny and Ruby Fann; uncle, David S. Mosley; aunt, Darlene (Charles) Brown; and God daughter, India Wright-Dixon.
She is survived by her brother, Leroy Darrin (Kelly) Fann; nephew, Sergio; nieces, Erin and Ashley; uncles, Gene Paul (Alma) McWain; aunts, Beverly (Brent) Rice, Sharon (Leroy) Mitchell, Adrienne (Gary) Jones, Elaine (James) Brown; great nephews, Ethan and Armani; God children, Dena Cornelius, Maverick Carter, and Monty Thompson; and she also leaves to celebrate her life many cousins and friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320. Memorial service will immediately follow.
