JERRY FARR, Class of 1971 passed away on May 18, 1987 while serving in the Navy on the USS Stark when it was attacked by the Iraqi Air Force while they were patrolling the waters of the Persian Gulf.37 American Servicemen died that day.
A friend in our early life, although not really all that close, we lost contact completely when I left the Island. Lots of people talk about patriotism, but few ever really back up that talk with action as you did. And even fewer still find themselves paying that ultimate price for the rest of us.
