Mr. Newby was a great guy and always had an eye out for the underdog. His sternness didn't fool many as we knew he was only looking out for our well being and progress as students. In any conversation with Mr. Newby, it was easy to see that he was a very caring person, honored his students and enjoyed his job. I always appreciated his support as a principal and more-so as a coach. I remember him often.
