Linda Smith

Died Sunday morning, November 4, 2007. Linda was born July 6, 1943 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a daughter of Raymond and Mary (Gilliland) Cowels. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. She was preceded in death by her parents. On August 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to Stuart E. Smith, who survives. Also surviving, two children, Lorraine (Carl) Berndt of Battle Creek and Lucinda (Aaron) Carson of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Sandra) Cowels of Kalamazoo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda had a great love of the outdoors; fishing, hunting, camping and the wildlife. She also enjoyed bingo, bowling, traveling and casinos. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
