Lois Oetman

Passed away Monday afternoon June 27, 2005 at her residence after gracefully winning her battle with cancer by going to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. Lois was born January 19, 1943 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota a daughter of Roland and Greta (Koopmann) Lovelace. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was a professional cake decorator for many years. She was also a member of the Resurrection Life Church of Richland. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters, Maryann Meskil and Blanche Rork. On November 30, 1984, she was united in marriage to William "Billy" L. Oetman who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Todd (DeAnna) Phillips of Kalamazoo, Lisa (Mark) Frasier of Plainwell, Heidi West of Muncie, IN and Andrea (Mike) VerHage of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Doris (Robert) Watkins of Kalamazoo; a brother, Gerhard (MaryLou) Lovelace of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at the Resurrection Life Church of Richland, 8157 East DE Avenue. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Graveside services will be held 10:30 Friday in Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Real Women Ministries or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
