David Milton Ranger went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Bronson Hospital after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Dave was born March 13, 1943 in Kalamazoo, the son of Milton and Tena Ranger. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School, where he was well known as an outstanding athlete. He continued his education at Western Michigan University, where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Mathematics. During his years at SHS, he was credited for taking the football team out of a 14 year slump and eventually leading them to their first trip to the state finals at the Silver Dome. Dave had a very special and rare rapport with young people. His passion was mathematics and the students he taught. Dave was also a good neighbor and friend, always ready to help in a time of need. His faith in God and his love and commitment to his family never wavered. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Reams) Ranger; three sons, David Ranger, Chad (Carmen) Ranger and Daniel (Adrienne) Ranger; a daughter, Kara (Jordan) Orick; three grandsons, Armando, Aidan Ranger and London Orick; three granddaughters, Montserrat, Andrea and Olivia Ranger; his mother-in-law, Arlene Reams; a sister, Nance Ranger; nieces and nephews.
