Died Sunday, August 14, 2005, at his home. Ed was born June 12, 1943, in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of Edgar F. and Agatha (Whitcomb) Raseman Jr., and had been a life long area resident. He served in the US Army from 1967-1969. Ed was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and together with his brother, Jim, managed the family business, National Storage Company, for over 40 years. Ed was also a member of the St. Augustine Cathedral. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Richard Raseman. On August 20, 1966, Ed was united in marriage with the former Lynne Gamble, who survives. Also surviving are a son and his wife, Edgar F. and Dawn Raseman IV of Kalamazoo; a daughter and her husband, Teri and Matt Wheelright of Kalamazoo; a grandson, Kaden Wheelright; mother, Agatha Raseman of Kalamazoo; a brother and his wife, James and Helen Raseman of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 Wednesday morning at St. Augustine Cathedral, 542!
W. Michigan Ave., with Fr. Al Jorgensen, Presider. Private entombment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery will be held later. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and a Rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. at L angeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. As an expression of sympathy the family requests memorials be directed to the American Lung Association, Hospice of Southwest Michigan or St. Augustine Cathedral.
