HAYWOOD, Arthur A.

Arthur A. Haywood, of Weeki Wachee, Florida passed away on August 9, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 23, 1943 to Alonzo and Nellie Haywood. The family, including his twin sister Arline, moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan when the children were 4 years of age. After graduating from Central High School in Kalamazoo, Arthur joined the United States Air Force where he was trained and served as an Air Force Mechanic. After serving 8 years in the service at places such as Okinawa, Japan and Hahn, Germany, he pursued his educational goals, receiving a BA in Accounting and an MBA in Finance at Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He worked for the National Bank of Detroit for several years before moving and starting a new job in 1980 with Western Electric in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. It was there he met his future wife, Gina G. Davis of Niles, Michigan. They married on May 28, 1983 and immediately moved to New Jersey for their respective jobs. With continual promotions and transfers, they moved to Dover, Pennsylvania then Laytonsville, Maryland. They retired and moved to GlenLakes in 2004, where Arthur enjoyed golfing, bowling, Tai Chi, and karaoke.
