JAAKON RAYMOND DOLENCE

A memorial service for Jaakon Raymond Dolence was conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 at the Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church, 124 Firestone Road. Inurnment took place at the Paul J. Wataha section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

Dolence, 28, of 1508 Manor Lane, Vancouver, Wash., died on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000 in Vancouver

He was born May 9, 1972, in Salt Lake City, the son of Larry Alan and Kathryn Sue Christensen Dolence. He attended schools in Rock Springs, Evanston, Denver, and Chicago and graduated from Black Forest Academy in Kandern, West Germany in 1990. He received an associate’s degree in chemistry from Western Wyoming Community College in 1992. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Wyoming.

Dolence married Leslie Barton on Nov. 1, 1995 in Vancouver, where they have resided for the last five years. He was employed at Industrial Control Development in Vancouver.

His interests included his family, hunting and he was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie; one daughter, Zaalan Ruth Dolence; one son, Xaavan Michael Dolence, all of Vancouver; his father, Larry Dolence of Rock Springs; two brothers, Larron S. Dolence of Grand Junction, Colo., and Naaman Dolence of Rock Springs; paternal grandparents, Stanley and Elsie Dolence of Rock Springs; maternal grandparents, Gene and Nadine Christensen of Buffalo; great-grandmother, Mina Wallace of Cheyenne; aunts, uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Dolence, who died in 1996.
