Lewis Diuguid

I have continued to work for The Kansas City Star as a journalist. I started at the newspaper as a reporter/photographer in May 1977 after graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism.

English teacher Alice Bennett got me started following and writing about the Class of 1999 when the students were freshmen. I studied all four years with them at Washington High School and wrote about 100 columns on the experience for The Kansas City Star. Many of those columns became part of my 2004 book, "A Teacher's Cry: Expose the Truth About Education Today."
