Steve Cheaque was very healthy and in the prime of his life when he died. He was married to Donna (Potter) for ten or more years, he was an excellent father of two young children, and a great friend. During the prior months before his death, Steve helped three of my premature baby girls by donating blood for their transfusions. Steve worked for the KC Water Dept. and went down into a manhole that didn't have adequate oxygen. It was very tragic and hard to accept.

Steve and I were best friends growing up. It was such a shock to hear of his death, because he was so full of life. He was very athletic, a great baseball player and he wrestled for awhile. We had a great time playing basketball and whiffle ball in the neighborhood and we had some pretty fierce table tennis matches at his house. He is very much missed!
