What a joy and blessing to have reconnected with Mandy via this website before our 2010 40th reunion.  (After a 40 year absence.)  She picked me up from the airport when I flew in, and we proceeded to lunch and munch at Winstead’s,  then at Topsy’s, then cruised and frolicked all around KC......including a drive-by at Troost School, where we’d met in 4th grade.

Since that reunion, she and I had stayed in contact frequently, texting, emailing, chatting on the phone. And every subsequent time I was in KC, we’d continue our recent tradition of lunching, munching and cruising.......and, of course, as we girls do, sharing tales of our lives— marriages, careers, kids, grandkids, joys and sorrows. What a blessing to have had this wonderfulgenerous, thoughtful, loving friend in my life. I will so miss her.

And I will miss hearing her wonderful, wonderful laugh .....that always delighted my soul.

Miss her voice and spirit every day. We started our pen-pal sisterhood on 4.19.2010 and left no stone unturned on current events, life-on-life's terms, and things that mattered for 14 years. Best friend, and best conversations, ever. Love, peace, and light to you on your journey, Mandy.

Normandy and I were friends at Bryant. She, tall always in the back and me down in front with Amy and Caroline. She was kind always. We stayed friends through high school and like many we lost touch. In 2010 I attended one of the high school reunions. First person to come bouncing across the room was Normandy. That big hug meant the world to me. She teased me thru the night about that tall good looking guy who as she said couldn't stop staring at me. She and I sat together all evening. As time passed that guy Bill Frederick and I were married. That  evening and My Tall Wonderful friend will always live in my heart. Be at rest.
