Walter A. Burens Obituary

Walter A. Burens, son of Edward and Aldean Nesbit Burens, was born July 16, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, and departed this life March 15, 2008, in Lebanon, Missouri. On November 23, 1968, he was united in marriage with Patsy Shelby, at the time of his death he and Patsy had celebrated thirty-nine wonderful years of marriage. Walter grew up in Kansas City and graduated High School there. He made many friends, and still kept in contact with many of them. After graduation, Walter started a career working for St. Luke's Health System in Kansas City, in materials management. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed the time spent with his co-workers. He retired after being with the company for thirty-nine years. He enjoyed traveling to auctions and Flea Markets. He had a great interest in trying to find "unique collectables." However he most enjoyed the time spent with his family and many friends. Walter is survived by his wife Patsy; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Benny and Jackie Finley of Falcon, MO; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Walter was a wonderful husband, loyal friend and cherished co-worker. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
