William Morrison

William (Bill) Bradley Morrison was born May 14, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to William Arthur Morrison and Sara Elisabeth (Hayley) Morrison. He passed away May 2, 2020 at his home in Collins, Missouri.

He grew up in Kansas City and was active in track and theatre, graduating from Southwest High School in 1965. William attended Annapolis Naval Academy following high school. He was united in marriage to Anita Louise Wheeler in 1969. This union was blessed with a daughter, Ann-Sara (Ann).

William worked as a draftsman for Black and Veach; he constructed his own drafting table and completed many of his own projects.

He had a heart for nature and animals. In 1976 he and Anita purchased land in Collins, Missouri where they spent many weekends camping and enjoying the serenity of nature and wildlife. William brought his family to live on the land in 1994, where they transformed the wilderness into a home. He found satisfaction in feeding the abundance of deer, turkey, racoons and the myriad of wild birds found in the countryside. The animals came to trust William and would often remain outside when he fed them.

William was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anita, of the home; daughter, Ann (Jason) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Bethany (Zane) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Gauge of Warsaw, Missouri, Taylor of Independence, Missouri, Joe of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
