This is Millie Milburn Leader. Gail is my sister in law. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer July, 2016. She fought a difficult battle for 5 months and had a sense of humor until the end. Her brother (Spence Leader) and I miss her so much but are thankful she is out of pain. She left one daughter, Michelle. She also left the love of her life and best friend Patrick Dean. She lived in Harrisonville, MO and only recently retired from the state as a social worker.
When I think of Gail, I remember freckles, a big smile and laughter. She was a really sweet gal that everyone liked....and was kind and and playful with everyone. Our world needs more good people like Gail. Millie, weren't you both lucky to have stayed friends all of these years? I am sad that she is gone, but glad to have been her friend.
So sorry to hear of Gail's passing. Remember being in Girl Scouts with her and riding the bus to junior high. She always made me laugh which in my opinion is a great legacy to leave behind!
I'm so sorry to hear of Gail's passing. She was so friendly and always smiling. I was hoping to see her at the reunion - didn't know what she was going through. My sympathies to her family. Thanks for letting us know, Millie.
I was so sorry to hear of Gail's passing. We had so much fun together in Girl Scouts from 6th through 9th grades. I'll always remember her friendly smile. My condolences to all her family and friends. Thanks for the information, Millie!
Brings back a lot of fun memories. So sad for the loss. My grandmother died from that cancer so I understand how hard it was on her. Gail definitely would light up the room. May she be in peace and prayers for the family. Gail will always be remembered
Having lived the life she did, speaks to the happiness even in grade school she conveyed. I know her family is missing her, they should know we too are remembering the life she lead and the smiles she conveyed
Gail was a wonderful person, who i always think about but lost track of....time goes by and we get busy with our families and careers. I always will remember her smile and laugh and am very sorry that her illness had to be sooo devastating.
We use to call her THE LEADER because of her last name and i think she knew it was endearing. She was a woman of valor and will be missed, but remembered always through my life.
May she Rest In Peace and may her family have some comfort in the memories and accomplishments of Gail's life
Gail was a wonderful person and a Woman of Valor. I remember her smile and her laugh and the way she brought everyone who was with her into the conversation and made all feel inclusive.
I have thought about her often but lost track of her through the years. We all get sooo busy with our own families and careers that we dont take the time to connect with each other. I am very sorry that she had this terrible illness to end her life and hope that she now will Rest In Peace.
may Gail's family be comforted by the memories of her life. She will be missed
