I'm so very sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I've known Mark just about all my life. Though I haven't spoken to him or Rhonda in a couple of decades, I've thought of him often and wondered how he was doing. He was a wonderful person - smart, kind, funny, warm, and a lot of fun. Years ago, my mom told me that she went to school with his father, who was called "Tiger." She said he too was really smart. He became a very successful attorney. I was surprised to hear that because Mark's family did not live high on the hog. I guess Mark came by his humility and admirable priorities honestly! Just about every guy I knew in highschool had a crush on Rhonda, but Mark won her, which is a great testament to Rhonda's taste and values. I know Mark had some tough years, but he was surrounded by the love of a wonderful woman and two great kids, loving sisters, and then, I'm sure, the most amazing grandchildren. I'm sorry I'm out of town and cannot attend his service or make a condolence call. My thoughts will be about Mark and with his family, as they have been since the moment I found out. Ths group surely knows that the friends we make when we're young become part of our lives in ways that friends we make later in life just never can - it's s a certain kind of deep, unconditional love. Mark will always have such a place in my heart. May he rest in Peace.
Mark was my roommate at MU. He was always extremely nice guy, to everyone. I remember walking with Mark at MU and to my surprise he met the love of his life Rhonda. Great memories. I was fortunate enough to see Mark again a few years ago, a smile brighter than the Plaza Christmas lights. Mark will always be the best part of my past. Rest In Peace my friend. Love, Bobby
I remember Mark well from our days at Border Star. He had an incredible sense of humor and I was always laughing when in his presence. His mother also was very funny and always happy. She drove a Corvair, and I don't know why I remember that, but I do. It was a convertible, I think. Anyway, I am sorry that I never saw Mark again after we moved from Kansas City after my 8th grade year at Southwest. RIP Mark
