My family moved from New Orleans, where I had spent my entire childhood, to Texas about 3 weeks before I started 8th grade. It was pretty awful. But it would have been completely awful had it not been for Cory. One bit of silliness: We were both big "Cheers" fans at the time and wrote notes to each other signing them Sam and Diane. So 80s.
All silliness aside, what a great friend Cory was to me that year, and during high school. He would have been a good man.
That sounds so much like Cory! He was a great friend to everyone. When I think of Cory, I remember his positive attitude and his big smile. I shared many classes with him over the years, and I agree that he made those years so much better for many of us! :)
Sam and Diane - that's really funny, Katy! And that does sound like Cory. You were such a good friend to him all those years ago. Glad you've got some good memories!
