I moved to Logan after graduation to attend USU, my first steps to moving out of Utah (Hey it was close to the border). I had a wonderful and crazy time, including getting to know a few people from Davis High that I hadn't know very well in high school. They have provided me with some great stories: late night peach sorbet runs and home bottled grape juice.
In 1993 went to Alaska (yeah leaving Utah) to be a nanny in Dillingham, which is about 250 air miles from Anchorage. People would always let you know it was in air miles as there where no roads to get there. I loved my job and loved Alaska even more.
I returned to Logan, only to leave for Wheeler, OR,(still trying to leave) about 2 hours from Portland on the coast, the next summer. Back to Logan where I worked in a hotel as a graveyard desk clerk and ending up the assistant to the general manager.
In 2001 I met Matt. We married in 2003 and I moved to Brigham City. He works for ATK/Thiokol.(He is a rocket scientist. I love to tell people that because it sounds fake.) We had only been married a month and found ourselves moving to Kaysville, West Kaysville with cows and raccoons, about a mile from my folks.(So much for the big dream of never living in Utah.) We love West Kaysville, I wasn't sure Matt would as I thought he was a city slicker, but he seems to be a Kaysville boy at heart.
I have, however, been able to travel about, including week long honeymoon in a foreign country with a husband who broke his foot not minding the gap on the second day.
Last October we had Lily, who is amazing.I am happier than I ever thought possible. Or it could just be sleep deprivation.
