Tom and I car-pooled to the University of Utah for a while and I got to know him fairly well. Tom was a quiet, serious, and honorable man with no visible vices. I never knew him to drink, smoke, use drugs or crude language. He was in the Army ROTC and was doing very well in his studies at the university. I was quite shocked when I heard about his death. His future looked very promising to me. We lost a good man - miss you Tom.
Tom's full name was Thomas James Rutledge. He was born 9 Apr 1948 and died 21 Apr 1970 at age 22. He is buried in the Kaysville City Cemetary.
Tom was a good friend. Mary Ann remembers him in elementary school where they were close friends there and always. We ran across his grave yesterday at the Kaysville Cemetary. He died in 1968.
