Carol Gale (Rehling)Carol Lorene Rehling Standard-Examiner (Ogden, UT) | 21 April 2014 Carol Lorene Rehling passed away peacefully on April 16, 2014 after a courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She was born in Prairie City, Oregon on July 24, 1949. She attended Davis High School and lived the majority of her life in the Kaysville/Layton area. She retired from Hill AFB, after 36 years of service. Carol was a devoted, caring mother, grandmother and wife. She truly enjoyed the game of golf and was proud of her various championships. She especially loved playing with her friends, husband and daughter. She loved to do crafts such as quilting, glass work, tole painting, sewing quilts, and making clothing for her grand kids. Another favorite activity was walking her dog, Dexter. Carol touched many lives with her sense of humor, generosity, and compassion. She was married to Brian McKinlay in 1967 and had two daughters. They were later divorced. In 1996, she married Frank Rehling, with whom she spent the remainder of her life. Carol is survived by her husband Frank Rehling; two daughters, Jody (McKinlay) Green and Shalise (David) McKinlay Garcia; and two grandchildren, Jaxon and Waylon Lienhardt. She had two stepchildren, Camie (Ryan) Nord, Brian Rehling; and four step-grandchildren, Nathan, Cole, Ashton and Hailey Nord. It was Carol's wish to be cremated and a "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton. She would prefer donations be provided to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
