Jim Schmidt learned of "Ewing's" death by a letter from his sister.  He had been living in the San Francisco area for several years. He was born October 13, 1940. Date of death 12-31-1999.  He was 59 years old.

Ewing was a good friend. We were fraternity brothers at KSTC. He was an intelligent, well informed individual with a clever wit. He had a great passion for reading. I shared many good times with Ewing, Dick Mahood and Ed Crowley.
