Ron Jones was born December 21, 1952, in Kearney, NE. On March 9, 2023, he died in Lincoln, NE, surrounded by loved ones.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Mary (Hemberger) Jones, son, Kyle Jones, daughter Rachel (Tylor) Jamison and grandchildren DeeRoy and MaryAnna Jamison. His brother, Don (Lavonne) Jones, sister Judy (Mike) Workman. Sisters-in-law Anne (Rick) Pike, and Karen Hemberger along with various nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a beloved Bassett hound, Lucy. He was preceded in death by parents John M. and Ruth A. (Sohrweid) Jones.
Ron loved his family, and he loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a dedicated Scouter from Webelos leader to Scoutmaster to District Commissioner. His other big love was the Buckskinner and living history style of camping, where he met many lifelong friends and taught others to love it, too.

We encourage all Scouters to wear their uniforms and Buckskinners to wear their regalia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that a tree be planted in Ron's honor.
