Obituary

Jose Guillermo Argueta 1974 ~ 2006 Jose Guillermo Argueta died May 25, 2006, after a difficult, but courageous 16-month battle with esophageal cancer. Jose was born February 25, 1974, to Yolanda H. Salazar and Luis E. Argueta in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He graduated from Kearns High School 1992, joined the Army as a combat medic in 1993, and was honorably discharged in 1999. He was hired by the Midvale Police Department in 1995 and successfully completed assignments in patrol, motors division, narcotics, and JCAT, was a SWAT team leader and most recently served as a robbery/homicide detective. He was very dedicated and passionate about his work. Jose spent his life blessing others with safety and protection.

He extended that service to loved ones and strangers alike. Jose married the Love of His Life, Erika Davidson, on July 13, 2003. Jose loved riding his Harley, playing PSP, watching the UFC, his dogs -- Santo and Savannah, The Oakland Raiders, being with family and friends, and free hot dogs at RC Willey.

He is survived by wife, Erika, parents, brothers, Luis (Sheri), Daniel (Katy), his adored nieces and nephews: Lauren, Connor, and Mason Argueta; Elijah, Lillian and Jasmine Argueta; Jayden and Sierra Lancaster; all of Erika's loving and supportive family, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and tons of friends.

The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to the Midvale Police Dept; Caresource Home Health and Hospice, especially Yolanda for your kind compassionate care; Dr. Watson and staff; Dr. Nibley and staff at Utah Cancer Specialists; and all of our many loving friends, extended family, neighbors for all their unending love and support. Thanks to Cecil Hawthorne and the Lancasters for all you have done.

Funeral: will be held at Hillcrest High School, 7350 S. 900 E., Tues, May 30, 3:30 p.m. Viewing: Monday, May 29, 6:00 to 8:00 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 So.).
