I went to school with Jon at Cummings, Whiteaker and McNary. His mother was one of my Cub Scout Den Leaders and later my father was our Webelo Den Leader. I played little league with Jon and spent hours playing basketball with him on the playgrounds at Cummings. I remember when we were about 11 or 12 and we found a large collection of "adult magazines" someone was throwing away and the problems we had smuggling them into Jon's house. I remember how we got SO sick of eating fortune cookies after Jon somehow appropriated a large bag of them while he was working at a chinese restaurant. I think of Jon whenever I see a little leaguer with an over-sized glove, bangs hanging in their eyes and a sheepish half-excited grin. Jon was a very good friend who was taken from us far too early and I still miss him.
