Comments:

After graduating from Mary D. Bradford, I completed my BA, MA and Ph. D. at UW-Madison where I subsequently became a professor. After 35 years at UW, during which I trained and supervised hundreds of future French teachers and worked at the graduate level with teachers of other languages in second-language acqusition, I retired in 1996. I very much enjoyed my professional work, including teaching, publishing articles and textbooks and giving workshops around the country. But I am enjoying retirement even more, including the opportunity to travel. I celebrated my 70th birthday with friends for two weeks in Paris. I usually spend January (and now February) in Sarsota to escape the Wisconsin winter weather. I get to New York City once or twice a year to visit museums, see plays, and enjoy great meals. My leisure time pursuits include reading, spending time with family and friends and working in my garden.
