Susan and Robert Marcinkus, both age 63 of Pleasant Prairie, died tragically on Friday, May 9, 2014, while vacationing in Panama City, FL.

Born in Kenosha on January 23, 1951, Susan was the daughter of the late Raymond and Veronica (Stodola) Gerl. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from U.W. - Parkside.

Born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1950, Robert was the son of the late Albert and Loretta (Kvietkus) Marcinkus. As a child, he moved with his family to Kenosha. He attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. Bob received his Bachelor's Degree from U.W. - Parkside and his Master's Degree from U.W.- Whitewater.

On March 18, 1972, they were united in marriage at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Kenosha.

In May, 1984, Sue began her career as an assistant to the Kenosha County Joint Services Director. In 2000 she was named the Kenosha County Joint Service Director. Following her retirement in 2011, she actively transitioned the Joint Service new team. Sue loved the beauty of glass work. In 2014, she launched the Marcinkus Gallery of Glass.

Bob began his teaching career in May, 1977 at McKinley Jr. High School. He was then employed at Mary D. Bradford High School from 2000 until his retirement in 2011.

Sue was an active volunteer at the Anderson Arts Center and Kemper Center. She loved her two beautiful horses, Breeze and Jody.

Bob was a member of the Kenosha and Wisconsin Education Associations. He enjoyed spending time reading and was an avid history and biography buff. Bob always engaged himself in home improvement projects and playing his banjo.

Sue and Bob loved to travel extensively together throughout the United States where they enjoyed camping, horseback riding and kayaking and many manners of holiday activities.

They are survived by their son, Justin Marcinkus. Bob is survived by his two brothers, Steve (Mary) and Mike Marcinkus.

In addition to their parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Marcinkus. Sue was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Gerl
