Our classmate, Doreen Puccinelli, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of July 22, 2026, at her Sonoma home. Her dear cousin, Betty, was at her side. She is survived by her brother (class of ‘57), Al Puccinelli, S.M. Doreen was so proud of his missionary work and shared with many of us his wonderful letters chronicling his experiences doing God's work in South America. He recently celebrated 60 years as a Marist priest.
Doreen was raised in Fairfax and attended St. Raphael's grammar school and Marin Catholic High School. She excelled in volleyball and in collecting lifelong friends with her warm, loving, and fun way with life. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and entertaining at the Clubhouse in Sonoma.
All will miss her. Rest in peace, "Pooch."

A memorial service for Doreen has been set for Saturday, August 22 at 1 PM at the Swiss Hotel in downtown Sonoma.

I met Doreen at St Raphaels in the 3 and 4 grades. I went to St Anselms when we moved but reconnected wih Doreen at MC. She remained a dear friend all these years. She was the best. She was a kind, wonderful person. At MC she excelled in volleyball and making livelong friends. I sm happy to say I was one of those lucky friends. I will miss visiting her in Sonoma and our wonderful gatherings and lunches in town. Be at peace dear Doreen.
